Description and Purpose:

Inspired by the diverse community of Silver Spring, MD, one of the country’s most vibrant and culturally rich cities, and just minutes from Washington, DC, the 2018 D&I Retreat for Nonprofit Leadership and Professionals, hosted by Project 986 Consulting, LLC, brings together organizational representatives and influencers who play key roles in supporting the service-oriented visions, goals and objectives of the nonprofit entities they represent. Often faced with budgetary constraints, now more than ever, it is important for nonprofit professionals serving in a variety of roles to invest in low-cost D&I solutions which will be a critical factor in their ability to attract diverse networks of supporters, stakeholders and advocates as well as build lucrative relationships with diverse partners leading to increased financial resources and an expanded capacity to serve and advocate for the communities and interests they represent. This signature event is designed to provide professionals within the nonprofit business community with practical, results-oriented tools to help them successfully integrate D&I ideals into their practices which will maximize their potential for mission-driven, results-oriented impact. In addition, this experience will increase participants’ capacity to increase the cultural competency and outreach potential of their leadership, staff, membership and volunteers as well as inspire and facilitate D&I processes for the benefit of their nonprofit organizational goals – all while connecting with others in key nonprofit positions working to accomplish similar service and advocacy-oriented objectives in changing climates.
